An Opportunity

Operation Christmas Child delivers shoeboxes filled with needed gifts to children around the world. 
This year WELCA is collecting specific items for these boxes on a monthly basis
rather that all at the deadline. 
 
For the month of August they are collecting crayons and coloring books
 
 
A collection box is available in the courtyard hallway. 
Please remember that all items must fit inside a shoebox.

Another Opportunity

Women of the ELCA accepting donations of quilts, blankets,

and comforters to be given to needy this winter

Also new and gently used sheets are needed for making quilts for Lutheran World Relief

March is the designated month for St. Paul to help stock the shelves of the Orion Area Food Pantry
Container for donations are in the courtyard hallway
Items especially needed include canned fruit, cereal, crackers, brownie mixes, muffin mixes, ravioli, ketchup, mayonnaise, Jello, Spaghettio's, rice/pasta packets, instant pudding, tuna helper, hamburger helper
 
 
Another Opportunity

Donations needed for Orion Area "Backpack Blessings" Program which provides a small bag of supplemental food for 30 needy children to take home each weekend

 

In addition to basic items ordered from IGA or River Bend Food Pantry, they like to include extra items such as pudding cups, fruit snacks, trail mix, goldfish crackers, and other individually packaged items

 

donations of these "extras" may be left in the designated container in the courtyard hallway

 
 
Another Opportunity  

Donations needed for the Orion Schools breakfast project.  Items appreciated include cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, pop tarts, granola bars, rice krispy treats, fruit breakfast bars, individual cereal boxes, individual fruit cups.  Monetary donations are also needed for purchasing milk.  There is a basket in the courtyard hallway for your donations.

WELCA mission efforts Fall 2017 included 27 quilts, 10 personal care kits,

20 school kits, 12 fabric kits, 5 pounds bar soap. 

Also 30 Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse International Relief.

WELCA presented $600 to the church on 10/8/2017

for the ELCA Disaster Relief efforts

in response to the victims of the recent Hurricanes
